Some days just don’t start right. While it seemed to start right, for some strange reason it went downhill fast and I had to dig out. I wonder how that happens? Is this morning destined to be “bad”. Or did I create it? Did I want the morning to start off badly to have an excuse for the rest of the day? Now that’s an interesting question. I’ll avoid it for now because I don’t want to admit that I did create it, right now. I know I did. Now the question is what did I get for creating that “problem”?
The human mind, so frustrating at times. Even my own mind frustrates me!

You know…gotta say that life isn’t too bad. This was a busy week and busy is good in my life. Made significant progress in some recruitment fronts. Made significant progress on getting better relationships in the partners that I work regularly. But all in all…life is good.

I’ve been fighting with “The cable guy” for a few weeks now. When I moved to my updated server, I noticed that my internet connection was “locking up”. I’d lose all in/out connectivity on the modem. When I opened a ticket with “The Cable Guy”, they could access it via their private net and “see” it connected to the head end. All was good? It took some convincing to prove otherwise. Needless to say, they replaced my modem and all is well…
Well not exactly, my HD box was acting up as well and after a few missteps they replaced that as well.
Fixed right…not yet. The new HD box has DVI only and no HDMI so my cable that I used previously is no longer useful. Waiting on a cable now. What fun.

As expected the court ruled in favor of Novell in the copyright lawsuit that SCO brought against Novell. As Novell’s counsel, Joe LaSala, put it, “In the spring of 2003, Novell set out to ensure that SCO’s groundless claims would not interfere with the development of Linux. Today’s court ruling vindicates the position Novell has taken since the inception of the dispute with SCO, and it settles the issue of who owns the copyrights of UNIX in Novell’s favor. The court’s ruling has cut out the core of SCO’s case and, as a result, eliminates SCO’s threat to the Linux community based upon allegations of copyright infringement of UNIX. We are extremely pleased with the outcome.”

That is the word of the day for me. Pretty much everyday. I’m working on trying to organize, be more consistent and as a consequence feel more “at ease” with everyday life.
This will be the start. I’ll try to document some things and show some progress whilst learning some new things!
